Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with MosArt clients and colleagues on thermal bridge modelling and analysis, to meet Passive House & Part L criteria on large residential and non-residential projects 

  • Interpret architectural drawing packages provided by architects and carry out the identification and marking of thermal bridges throughout the building envelope 

  • Analyse construction details across various construction systems to develop and perform detailed 2D and 3D thermal bridge modelling and analysis 

  • Prepare technical thermal bridge modelling reports to be issued to MosArt clients and provide cost-effective design adjustment recommendations towards performance enhancement 

  • Coordinate the flow of documentation from the Architects and Developers to ensure thorough tracking of the modelling process and management of supporting documents 

  • Provide high level technical support to the MosArt clients & colleagues 

  • Develop internal library of thermal bridge details / calculations
     

The ideal candidate would have the following: 

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to bring others on board with their ideas 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 

  • Strong commercial awareness and a keen interest in Sustainability 

  • Solid understanding of Building Physics and heat transfer is a considerable advantage  

  • NSAI Thermal Modeller registration and familiarity with the Irish Technical Guidance Document (TGD) Part L would be an advantage but not necessary 

  • Passive House Designer/ Consultant with experience in PHPP – this would be a distinct advantage but is not necessary as full training will be provided 

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel/Word, as a minimum 

  • Working knowledge of Revit and/or Sketchup, would be an advantage but not necessary 

  • Solid knowledge of thermal bridge modelling processes and modelling software is essential. Preference will be given to candidates proficient in Mold Pro (DarTwin)
     

Educational Requirements: 

  • Level 7 degree in Building Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Building Physics or other relevant qualification.

  • Expenses, where applicable, will also be paid at the end of the month 

  • Working hours 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday & .8:30am to 1pm on Friday. It’s very important to us that staff don’t work additional hours if at all possible
