Betances Residence is a groundbreaking project located in the Mott Haven neighbourhood of the Bronx, designed to provide safe and sustainable housing for at-risk seniors. This 152-unit supportive housing development was designed to Passive House standards, ensuring superior energy efficiency and occupant comfort. As the Passive House Certifiers, MosArt played a key role in verifying that the building met the stringent energy performance criteria required for certification.

The building incorporates biophilic design elements, green spaces, and community-oriented areas to promote well-being and a connection to nature. The result is a highly insulated, resource-efficient residence, with features like triple-glazed windows, energy recovery ventilation, and solar panels, all of which reduce the building’s environmental impact while providing a healthy living environment for its residents.
