MosArt prepared a simple but effective enhancement scheme for this project – a Lidl Branch in South Dublin – with regular spaced, cone shaped ornamental pear trees as boundary planting and rows of Photinia shrub planting underneath. The Photinia rows are perpendicular to the roads and will screen oblique views but allow straight-on views into the site for passive surveillance. The Pear trees are special ‘4 – season’ street trees with flowering in spring and beautiful autumn colours. The proposal re-uses the existing Rowan trees currently alongside Clonkeen Road at the south boundary of the site. The existing fence surrounding the staircase would be covered in Ivy climbers.
