This project is located at an elevated position above a sea cliff on the East Coast to the north of Dublin and the main focus of the landscape plan was to preserve the magnificent assets of the site – its setting above the sea cliff, its views across the sea and the existing tree cover.
A generous curved buffer zone of screen planting consisting of plants traditionally associated to seaside areas is planted alongside the boundaries. The grass plain in front of the house is retained but structured with a curved gravel driveway leading to and from the main entrance area. The grass lawn continues towards the sea in form of embankments and leads to the southern terrace with a series of curved paved and grassed terraces including the infinity swimming pool.
Stepping stones integrated into the cliff are leading from the rear garden to a seating platform at the sea surrounded by the reinstated existing wall.
